Tracee Fletcher Chapter President 2021-2023
Greetings on behalf of the Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter (HMAC)
We are one the most dynamic and hardest working chapters in the Blazing Southwest Region of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, a private, not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide assistance and support through established programs in local communities throughout the world. The organization is a sisterhood of predominantly Black, college educated women. Since its founding more than 300,000 women have joined the organization. The Sorority has over 900 collegiate and alumnae chapters located in the United States, the Arabian Gulf, Bahamas, Bermuda, Canada, Germany, Jamaica, Japan, the Republic of Korea, and the Virgin Islands. Deltas exemplify dedication to an extensive array of public service programs with a focus on educational development, economic development, international awareness, political awareness and physical & mental health initiatives.

Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter (HMAC) was chartered in October of 1974. Since its inception, the Chapter has been actively involved in supporting local agencies, and sponsoring community workshops, a variety of awareness forums, health fairs, and educational opportunities for the members of the Greater Houston community.

We are a chapter that continues to create impactful programming– particularly the past year and a half during the pandemic. We are excited about leveraging our collaborations with our community partners to uplift the Greater Houston Metropolitan area communities. If you are interested in working with us on civic-minded programs, contact us at president@hmacdelta.org.

If you are a Delta looking for a chapter home – there is a place for you in Houston Metropolitan Alumnae Chapter! Visit one of our chapter meetings or join us at one of our community events.

Our programs will focus on five specific areas of impact (5-Point Programmatic Thrust):

Economic Development
Educational Development
International Awareness and Involvement
Physical and Mental Health
Political Awareness and Involvement

Program participants can expect to take advantage of creative, relevant, professional, and innovative curriculum, activities and projects that will inspire participants to dream bigger, achieve more, and get involved in economic, health/medical and social issues that affect our community and world. If you are interested in partipating in our Programs, click the "Add me to Your Mailing List" at the top of our this page.  Yes, we are bringing our global assignment home and changing lives right here in Houston – that’s how HMAC serves!
